Hello Tech Community —

I’m seeking entry-level SOC / Junior Security Analyst / SecOps roles.

I recently passed CompTIA Security+ and have hands-on labs with:

• Splunk SIEM (log analysis & alert triage)
• Vulnerability scanning (Nmap/Nikto)
• Windows & Linux security
• AWS basics, including alert triage and incident documentation.

Open to remote or hybrid roles. Advice, referrals, or insights appreciated.

Messages open.

I’m struggling at the moment to gauge how much I should be getting paid in my position as i feel I’m heavily underpaid for the work I do, which includes managing digital marketing operations across 12+ countries, manage the studio/creatives plus lead on any campaigns and strategies, etc. I’m also remote UK-based although my company is international. So what do you feel a fair UK wage would be for the role? I love my job/team but the stress isn’t worth it for me atm. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Does anyone have leads or advice for pursuing remote internship or employment opportunities in IT while in college? For reference, I am beginning my sophomore year in college with 3 majors within CSCI and am working on attaining my A+ certificate then my Network+. I am partaking in a network infrastructure internship position right now for a large lending corporation (my only internship thus far). I am unsure if I want to continue with infrastructure or software. Thank you in advance!

I had a very controversial experience with an OB that made me wonder how much we should be trying to influence our patients' decisions "in their best interest." Does anyone else just not even want to be a people manager anymore?! The amount of work this is taking, I’m just so over it. In addition to them piling on my work (which is a full time job) the people management stuff is just as much a full time job that no one in management seems to take into account. I have tried countless times to explain this but I end up burnt out, everyone suffers including me. I just left one role bc of it and now this new role, same thing. I’m over it.

How concerned are you about inflation? We have 70% savings rate and 50% of our expenses are housing / utilities of which the largest part is rent which is a fixed contract (no CPI escalation, no automatic increases, paying same rent for 4 years). No car as we are living in a large city. So if I look at the components of CPI and what’s rising I am feeling pretty „good“ about it. The one thing I am „worried“ is asset inflation but obviously that benefits me directly. What am I missing?

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

You think bitcoin is too high at 4200?
I think it's overshot in the interim /short term but on an absolute long term hold probably cheap
But obviously no cash flows or assets to value so difficult to put a number on it. But I could probably see it going to 20,000 long term. That would make it a 250bn market cap, which is 5% of the 4T FX market. Maybe that's too much - thoughts?
