1. Bain cases are not standardized. Every interviewer writes their own case, so you'll need to be able to think on your feet vs. applying a standard framework. There will always be a computation component, but the amount of data/exhibits vary. 2. Tell me the whole framework, but prioritize the area of highest value first.
Calm down, FB. OP seemed to be asking for be magic answer to how to get through a Bain case interview. If that's what you're looking for, you're screwed. B2s advice is correct. Keep in mind that except for our written case, Bainies all write their interview cases themselves. McKinsey cases are incredibly structured and formal in most cases. Not so with Bain cases. However, they still feature lots of exhibits, quantitative analysis, and critical thinking. In my own experience, there is more handholding in McKinsey interviews because everything is so structured. Because of that, Bain cases can be harder if you aren't comfortable with ambiguity and with being required to drive almost all of the case.
@Bain 1 is this what you need to do in the interview process? You seemed to be good at it.
And real answer: you should drive the case. Framework should be comprehensive but give your answer first. Nose for value.
@B1 - Amen
Are you coming from big 4
Yes I am from S&O
Bain 1, I feel sorry for you
Thanks Bain 2
Bain 1 called for Bain 2. Nice team work
B1 thanks for your answer. I am just trying to understand the style to better position myself into the interview.
