I'm going back to college this fall, and also want to have time for a social life/being on campus. I have 2 years of Big 4 Experience, a Secret clearance, and a decent resume.

Looking to work 3 days a week, and make at least +$35/hour.

When someone calls your previous places of employment, what can they legally ask? I was told they can verify length of employment. I’ve heard they can or can’t ask if they would hire you back, I was told they cannot ask your previous salary. Does anyone know the facts?

When asked about the joining bonus HR said that there is no joining bonus for those who joined post March 2022. But I see some people are getting joining bonus.

Ok, so I have a couple of offers, one kind of lackluster, for the County. The other is for a credit union-I left credit unions a few years ago to join a FinTech supporting credit unions)
I was laid off last month and have had a flurry of interviews…this credit union offer is my favorite so far, I do have another offer I’m waiting for from another tech company which has a much higher salary range, but nothing is written in stone.
Should I counter? The offer is $95k for a project manager.

I’m unsure what the proper time is to ask for a salary bump.
