Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!
How do you all deal with the guilt of leaving a comany/ team? I have been working at Microsoft for 1 year now, and seriously considering moving. I find the code base to be very legacy and I mostly work on obscure bugs that I spend so much time on, mostly due to navigating this large code base and not having much docs to refer to. Hence I find the job slightly unsatisfying, and that I could learn more elsewhere. However, I love the wlb, the team and company culture. The guilt stops my applying.

Damn, you might just want to update your resume and start looking for a new job because I don't think you'll have either job much longer
FAFO
Resign from company B and start looking for another job ASAP. If you say you don’t work at company B now I don’t think they can do anything to you if they find out.
Tell them you had no choice because the cost of eggs is so high lol
I doubt he’s gonna go and tell job A about job B… like he’d have to go out of his way to destroy you like this…. Any animosity to warrant that?
In job B, will he be in same department as you? You could just keep your head down lol
Not that I know anything about this at all 🫣
That’s a good point… it’s kinda tough. As a manager of humans being a human themselves, they should know that there’s been significant pay cuts industry-wide. Some people NEED multiple jobs just to stay afloat. It’s a complex, delicate situation indeed. Maybe one option is to get ahead of it and try to talk to the manager, explaining the circumstances…
Well hopefully you saved your money.
Good bye. I don't feel sorry for you. Quit company B and work at company C if you want 2 incomes. Easy
Yikes, that’s a tricky situation! I’d recommend being proactive and having an honest conversation with both companies. You can explain the situation, express your loyalty to both roles, and show you're willing to comply with their policies moving forward. Transparency might help mitigate any fallout.
Depending on the size of company B finding out isn't necessarily going to happen, and there's a chance they won't notice or care. But you're reaping what you sow here. Pick one or the other company based on comp and stability and leave the other.
Buy him a drink and brainstorm on how the two of you can take what you know and capitalize on the moment by creating fake identities for your newly created staff of AI agents that work all these jobs and more!
Create a SAAS to B2B both A+B ASAP using AI APIs
Quit Job B, stay at Job A. Find another Job B.
What the ...! How unlucky! I'd second what M1 said. He may be a good person and keeps it a secret as long as you get the job done but you should expect the worst.
A friend of mine never works for just one company anymore. At some point he was working for 3. He says just 1 is very bad. He makes sure that all of them know that he is working for other companies to avoid any problems. It is a precondition to him working for a new company. He is on contract though not full time and he is super productive.
Hopefully not, but you might have to look into getting a lawyer
QUIT A immediately, replace with C! 😁
Karma
Tell him you’re in debt to loan sharks and have no choice
Unlucky, I’d suggest you pick the company you want to stay with. There really is no other choice
Hire a lawyer
A lawyer may find a loophole or if you are cheap, have ChatGPT analyze both of your contracts and see if it can find a loophole. My advice though is you get what you pay for so hire a lawyer
