Help! I want to become a Financial Analyst! Currently a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley and I want to transition into a Financial Analyst role at a different company. I don't like talking to clients for 8 hrs a day, it's mentally taxing. Would anyone be willing to provide any help on how I can transition? Can you recommend any programs that I should be learning and any skills that you think would be necessary to know?

(1) Internal transfer if working in a bigger company or (2) apply everywhere for entry roles.

Focus on how detail oriented you are (applies to all work). You understand different costs of products (cost analyst). Break-even analysis relating to options.

More of your role does apply. Just make sure you emphasize it in your resume/interviews.

Not required, but couldn’t hurt to learn.

Tableau and Power BI are data vis — to me they are similar enough to Pivot Tables you could figure it out.
SQL is cool, but I don’t think most jobs ask for it. (This may depend on the type of ERP system the companies uses, but I’m not sure. I have not used SQL in an office setting.)

New fish looking for career guidance.

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

What do you guys think, should do? It’s a huge engagement so it’s room to grow. Should I just suck it up and try?
