Has anyone here participated in the year long remote year program? My company is fully remote in the US and is in general supportive of me going but concerned about local and international tax liability. Remote year doesn’t share tax advice and our HR team is small. Abandoning Green Card
Has anybody experience in giving up the LPR status after leaving the US for work and residency in another country/homecountry? I come from a low tax country and wonder whether Uncle Sam will send a final tax bill or penalty fee or even make it difficult/impossible for me to abandon the GC once I will leave the US again. Im considering investing in a rental property. Would prefer something I can use and enjoy but still leverage as a vacation rental. We’re a skier/snowboarding family and would love to have a home we can use in the winter with lakefront/lake access for summer use. Does it make financial sense?
