None of my friends has it and we are all doing fine without it.
Yeah get a belt man, so worth it
I have a black belt, which I believe has helped in problem solving. I find the lean six sigma approach of when and how to use data to be valuable. Additionally, I think what you learn when certifying helps set you apart later. I will say I have met a number of black belts who seemed to just do it as a check box. If you want it as a credential but aren't really planning on using it, I don't know that it would be worth it.
If you want to be a deep ops person it helps your credibility but not required by any means
M1, clients may not care for your belt, but it may have value when you are switching jobs and the recruiters see it as an asset
Total waste of time and money. Dude it's a 1990s approach to quality management that became popular when the us thought the Japanese we're going to take over our country but man has it fallen out of favor. Sure you may get a certification but what the hell is that certification used for in this modern world

I agree! I’m taking the class now for my MBA and will get a belt
I'll be the bad guy here. I am a six sigma black belt from industry. That required me spending two years of my career in a dedicated role doing only six Sigma projects and my clients don't care that I have it or not. Now if you think an online certification or a class at some school with no actual projects to tag to it is going to get you the credibility, go throw your money in
What are the belt colors and how many hours of work went into each level?
ZS - I ran an engineering department for a couple years. When we saw a candidate with no experience put six sigma on their resume, they were in for some deeper probing and more often than not, they wouldnt be able to crack the interview. Six Sigma is a tool and your tool is only as good as how well you are able to apply it. Black belts at fortune 500 companies save a few million a year in real bottomline value. Being selected by some recruiter with that buzz word is not going to land you the job when someone most likely with much deeper experience is sitting across the table at your interview
