Hey all! I’m looking to make a move to DC from the Southeast and am seeing great options for 1 bedroom units in Navy Yards/SW Waterfront. I’ve enjoyed that spot a lot from my visits. But I am curious to hear experiences of living there compared to Alexandria or Arlington VA. Monthly rent budget range is $2-2.5K. I’ll also be working from home. Any advice and suggestions are appreciated!

I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Inputs appreciated.
