Is this a direct manager situation? Or just senior pharmacist to junior team members.
In either scenario, I have always found doing a “coffee” break 1:1 has some benefits in the bonding area. Short conversations for 10-15 minutes. Topics could be sports, area events or even asking about their favorite Dunkin’ coffee or icecream.
Save the manager/employee 1:1 conversations for work stuff. And long term goals.
As for junior and senior member bonding, i have paired junior and seniors together from a mentoring perspective and then rotated every quarter. While the protocols are followed, seniors might have a different take on how to follow protocols, handle office personalities, work/life balance views etc.
Juniors can ask the most eye opening questions sometimes.
Create a weekly chat session. It can be for your junior to ask question, offer ideas, talk about observations made realting to how things can be better, faster or more efficient. Like PM1 said, juniors often have amazing ideas but it takes an open space they feel comfortable in. You know your work space best - try to find ways to create that for them!
