I am currently working in Operations and planning to shift into Product Management. I come from a non technical background and not from any fancy college. Do you guys think it's wise for me to try directly into product management or should I try something else first? Like a business analyst or something of that sort and then look for a pivot into product management.

I am currently working at a prod based company as a QA Engineer in a maintenance project. I joined 7 months back. They offerred me an SDET+DevOps role. And all this while I was mostly working on manual. There is no scope and value to automation in this project.
