Hey Everyone!

I have a degree in supply chain management and graduated right at the start of the Covid pandemic 2020. I'm currently working in accounting, but I'm struggling to find a job in supply chain management. Would you recommend I stay within the Accounting/finance field or get into Supply chat industry. Any advice or leads would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It's a tough time to break into supply chain because of the current economy and supply chain issues. You have the education, so I'd recommend trying some supply chain networking groups. Look for events, workshops, and seminars where you might be able to connect IRL with other supply chain professionals; that would greatly increase your chances of finding a job!

Thank you for the advice! Do you have any suggestions for what sector within the supply chain industry I should pursue, what potentially has the most growth?

Thanks

I would recommend exposing yourself in what you do now into supply chain. Commonly finance teams are found part of the S&OP/SIOP process. Gaining some exposure in what you do now with this exposure (if you have the chance) could be helpful in your continued journey.

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?
