Does Natwest bank pay as competitive as Morgan Stanley Deutsche Bank. I mean Associate in MS and DB ranges from 20 to 30 lakh. However when I tried applying to Natwest expecting 40% hike (30 lpa) on current pay of 21 lakh. They straightway rejected me and said its not in their budget. Is there any financial firm which can pay as competitive to Mumbai banks. Barclays Deutsche Bank Natwest group BlackRock
Hi Fishes, Pls help,
YOE: 13 yrs
Cctc: 13 lpa
Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa.
After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).
Queries:
1. Is this normal or rare case, reducing the offer amount from what quoted initially?
2. Should I accept or negotiate?
I don't have any other offer as of now.

Kind of a niche situation for me but when applying for my current job I had great interviews through the final round and then got nothing for a month. Turns out my HR rep was fired shortly after my last interview and I got lost in the shuffle.
If they don't respond via email, try calling them (if they provided a phone number) or try calling the front desk. At the very least, they owe you an explanation for the radio silence, whether that's because they're no longer interested or they're still interviewing.
Patience and persistence are your friends OP. We have all been there. Good things come to those who wait. Just check in every week or 2 and have an excuse / make it easy for them to give an excuse! Best of luck
You’ve already followed up twice, dont do it again. Any more will be awkward and pushy.
You can’t focus on this kind of thing, it’s out of your hands so let it go. Maybe the timeline got pushed out cause somebody has vacation, or another candidate had to push their interview out, or they’re waiting for a stakeholder to weigh in and they’ve been busy, or waiting for global HQ to confirm the salary. You can’t know, you never will, so let it go. If you do hear back, it’ll be a nice surprise.
I was in a very similar situation. I had interviewed at my dream agency, met with the creative director and strategy director on the account the first day, everything felt so right and then ghosted for about 3 weeks. I kept following up and checking in to see if they needed anything from me and it was always “we’ll get back to you”. Finally, I told myself it wasn’t meant to be and that they probably went with another candidate. I sent them a final note, thanked them for their time, and asked to be kept in mind for any future positions. Two days after that I get an e-mail with my offer letter. They thanked me for being patient and for the follow-ups - turns out they had some internal restructuring going on in the HR department and filling the position became less of a priority. Moral of the story, be persistent. If you truly believe you are a good fit, keep at it and hopefully it will work out in the end. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that can delay the process. Orrrrrr, they’re just dicks and ghosting you. Best of luck!
You can use a browser extension like Bananatag to see if they’re even opening your emails. That always gives me ease of mind
Is this normal? I can’t help but feel like I’m being ghosted, but also don’t know if these things just take time.
FYI, I was the first interview of the second round, so I know there are people interviewing after me. The delay just seems weird because they were so specific in saying when they’d be in touch.
Someone talk me off the ledge!
Unfortunately, this has become the norm. They know you are interested in the job. Best thing that you can do is to refocus your energy somewhere else. Let them fret over you instead. Stay strong.
Same thing happened to me, all you can do is follow up
