Hey fishes! I could really use some advice right now. I’ve been working in audit for about 8 months now and I’ve tried studying for the CPA as well. All in all, I’ve failed FAR 3 times and I’ve failed AUD once.

I’ve been considering leaving my job after I hit a year to focus on getting my masters degree in Cyber Accounting and passing the CPA exam. Any thoughts?

With my work schedule right now it seems like it’s impossible to balance studying and work. How did you guys do it?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

What monetary goal/target are you telling yourself to hit before quitting big law?

Best way to develop your leadership skills for the healthcare field? Or books/resources you would recommend?

Hi All - I’m at a firm that has some infrequent in-house training but not enough to help me develop skills to eventually become a trial lawyer. I know cases rarely make it to trial anymore, but I’d like to develop my skills as much as possible to position myself well when they do. Does anyone have any mock trial programs they’ve participated in outside of their firms that they would recommend?

I am currently waiting for the job offer for a consulting firm but I was told it could take several months. Between now and then, I have plenty of time for myself. What should I be doing to prepare myself for the new job? Any recommendations for newsletter/industry reports/books/ coursea courses? Thank you all!

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.

Do I really need the lectures (Becker) to pass the exams? I really just want to do everything else besides that.

So Becker was supposed to charge me $600 to update for unlimited access since my account was due to expire in March. I called them in December to make payment. Now 8months later...they reach out to me saying they only charged $35. I just checked my bank statement and they are right but i don't have $600 sitting around...What do i do? Thoughts?
