Hey Fishfam, anyone willing to share TC for GSM at Apple? Got an offer: Base $140k, Joining bonus $30k, RSU $160k over 4 years. I will have to move from NJ to SF. Current Base is $120k and up to 20% year end bonus. Been at my job for 6 years and really happy with work culture/team/management.

PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

You guys commenting have interesting points of view - I agree its not worth relocating for such a small bump in a much higher CoL, however that’s about right for a job that doesn’t require hard skills/isnt product related
I am interested in learning about the compensation for SWEs in Software engineering org at Apple.
ICT 4 .
Total experience- 11 years , been at apple for ~5 years.
What’s your experience been like ?
Depending on experience, that’s a fine salary and RSU grant for a GSM role. And your RSUs will stack over the next few years and add up to more than you expect. Plus, Apple GSMs do awesome work. No matter the specific product line you end up on, you’ll be negotiating some heavy contracts and responsible for managing something awesome. COL is high here but assuming your expenses are normal you’ll live a fine lifestyle here with that salary.
That’s not good enough imo to move to Bay Area.
You’re making $120k now in NJ and only $20k increase to move to the Bay?? Nah. Maybe it’s just my experience but changing companies bumped my base by about $50k, otherwise it wasn’t a compelling offer especially if you like were you’re at currently. That’s not enough of a bump IMO for a move out of a company/job you like let alone a relocation to the most expensive area in the country.
No, not a 20K increase - it's 140+30+(160/4) = 210 TC first year, 180 after that (in absence of stock refreshers. OP is making 120+20% = 144 right now, so a much larger bump than 20K
Feels like a very small bump for a move to an incredibly higher cost of living area. Especially seeing as you're happy where you are and have a better network of family etc there, I would not consider a move for less than a 50+k bump.
That's no where near enough to live in SF.
I thought apple pays ~300k every year? you should be good with above until you start looking to buy house
It will amount to $300k a year if one gets such RSUs every year. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s easy to get this money but it’s not too hard IMO.
COL will be nuts and WLB just depends on team. Apple is not as bad as Amazon, say. That's a tough offer to turn down, but maybe other life factors would really weigh in. Have you visited SF and gotten a sense for the general place? Do you have a family? Very different from NJ.
They still haven’t mentioned which category I would be responsible for, so not sure how I feel about the role yet. True it’s my first FAANG, but not too excited yet.

Can you negotiate a higher base?
Totally agree, looking at cost of living difference, most conservative I found online, Bay is 160% expensive to Jersey. So Apple TC is either going to net my TC today or even may be slightly lower.
Additional RSU can be part of performance review/bonus. But wouldn’t bank on it.

I would definitely recommend negotiating a higher base. RSUs are pretty good.
I am guessing this is ICT 3 ? What’s GSM ? Is this the connectivity division?
Got it. So it’s not engineering/technical.
Stay - its crowded and expensive.
Yikes that’s low. I’d negotiate.
Do you have an MBA or grad degree?
I’d look at it this way, if you don’t have family or crazy responsibilities that would affect moving, I feel it’s worth it to move to SF, endure for 2 years then bounce. It’s good to have on resume, especially since it’s your first fang. RSU is good though!
