Depends on the agency but yes
Yeah I do.... Sometimes pass it to a junior or intern after I've set a look and done one example, but that usually ends up being if I want to teach them. It actually takes longer to pass it off because of the back and forth when I can just easily bang it out. Sometimes I'll do a big box, leaderboard, skyscraper and then just give it to studio to figure out (if the look has been client approved).
Sorry forgot to add - I make commercials, that would be what I'm doing as the majority of my work. Either concepting or making commercials. Banners is just lower funnel shit that's usually included in the media plan. If it's 50% of what you do, time to dip from that place.
Just out of curiosity: how much are you paid to do banner?
Whatever their salary is? Pretty sure they're not getting paid by the banner my guy 😆
It’s rare but if I’m asked or it needs to be done, sure. And if I’m swamped, I’ll bang out the copy quickly then hand it off to a younger team to AD it and own the project.
It sounds like your agency doesn’t have many creative opportunities though which is something else entirely. Jobs are hard to find right now but you should think about jumping ship.
Yup!
