I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce

I will give you some advice, generally placing urgency on other people does not incite them to provide assistance (drowning man theory, you can’t help someone who’s drowning and doesn’t know how to swim, they will drown you both). Hiring in analytics, typically a cost center or non-revenue generating support role, has largely ground to a halt. Look into younger companies, startups etc that have an analytics platform as their “core” product or offering, and be willing to work practically for free. Best of luck
I’ve been doing that consistently and do feel that something may pop up soon (though given the current hiring situation it may take time).
The resume is optimized every few weeks to based on any new fruitful suggestions from a recruiter/manager.
I don’t have any issues with relocation, so I’m not restricting myself with it. Hence, let’s see how it goes.
No new grad openings atm in my org, but can offer something practical.
Take a day to read the 2 Hour Job Search, and actually do what it says. Incorporate M1's tip about YC, and throw in other startup related sources as well.
Don't actually expect just 2 hours (duh). In my experience, just setting up an intro call often needs a week or longer; you'll want to build a continuous networking pipeline rather than waiting on replies. The job search is your new full time role, as I'm sure that OPT is making you feel anyway.
From there, most calls won't be a way in either. It's a numbers game, and what sales people go through regularly. If you start feeling discouraged, remember that you only need to hit quota aka one signed offer. Don't stop after you have it either, since offers can get pulled. But do be transparent in networking about already having a signed offer if you sign, so that you don't burn bridges as you build them. Honesty is a good thing.
Finally, don't forget to leave some time for interview prep. May seem obvious, but you'd be surprised....
