Hey I’m currently in a role Product Owner and wanted to see about transitioning into tech sales.I figured I’m 26 in grad school with no real responsibilities like a family so it would be the perfect time to try it out. Does anyone have any advice on how to transition (particular companies, what recruiters are looking for) and is it feasible for me to break even at 70k so I match my current salary?

I was just talking to a younger friend who goes to Cal and It seems like the kids these days hate FAANG or at least Amazon and Facebook are not desired at all. I personally don’t see too many issues working at either Amazon or Facebook because I work at Deloitte where I’m sure we have many questionable clients and worked in financial services before. Curious on whether people are thinking about the ethics of their exit company when deciding to move?

In short - I am very confused and nervous.

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

Tech Stack : python(django/flask), JS (react, emberjs), good hands on in AWS, Azure, terraform, ansible, githubCI, shell script etc, DB(MYSQL, ES, postgres, mongo), and custom toolings made internally.

My current CTC is 16.5 LPA (India) with 4+ YOE, product based.

Got an offer of 8LPA from JPMC for the role of Test Analyst. YOE - 1.4 years, Location - Malad, Mumbai.
I would like to know how much I can negotiate with the HR on this offer.
I don't have any other offer in hand.

Currently having 12.36lacs CTC, YOE 8, Business analyst skill, other skills power Bi, SQl, SAP Hana, before 1st round informed recruiter expected CTC as 20lacs not aware BOnus included in IQVIA.

DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? I double major in Brand Management and Psychology. Any advice or direction on how to get my step through the door as a foreigner in this competitive industry?

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

Since joining my company 3 years ago my target has increased 45% my basic has increased 3%.

I have always been informed my basic is based on target.

Last 3 years the entire sales team hasn't made target in my product.

Anyone else seen this trend?

I've swallowed it but seeing the pressure from the increased target and the stress causing I'm thinking that wasn't wise.

Career question: Currently making under-market in a role I excel at (inside sales), but little to no insight into any potential promotions/raises anytime soon due to current freezes. I was just offered a substantial increase in pay to leave IT sales (double my current base, plus bonus.) It’s still selling tech, but not complex data center kind of IT sales. How hard would it be to get back into IT sales later on if I leave for a year or two? Specifically looking to get into a field sales role?
