Hey moms. For those who bought a tablet for their child which one did you go for? Which brand is best for a 3 year old. Thanks

We have the Amazon fire kids tablet. We like them because they have screen time limits

This has my vote too. It’s not as intuitive as an iPad, but it’s a fraction of the price. We primarily use it during travel and DL movies on it for long road trips or flights.

We have the kids fire tablet. It’s cheap, durable, and does the job… and I didn’t want my kid having something so similar to my phone.

Not a tablet, but our kids love their Yotos. Would encourage looking into this in addition to a tablet. Yoto content could also be played from most tablets.

Thanks a lot. He has a toni box. He has loved it but the excitement has died down. The tablet will be for our long trip overseas mainly.

We just got our 3-year-old an Amazon fire tablet for a long-haul flight (the smallest size). I like that we control the content and the screen-time limits. It was dirt cheap and they can hold it in their hands or prop it up via the sturdy, kid-friendly case it comes in. It’s nowhere near as hi tech as an iPad but if you’re looking for something to primarily keep them entertained while traveling, the fire tablet does the trick. It has the capacity to hold several movies and a ton of tv episodes, so it met our needs.

And don’t let anyone judge you for doing whatever will make the trip the best possible experience for your child and your family. We should all be supporting each other not putting anyone down. It’s hard enough to be a working mom without feeling judged by the only group on here that actually gets what we’re going through.

Thanks a lot for sharing. He tends to like specific things like Super simple songs and bluey so the fire tablet might not work as it has just specific apps

An iPad because that’s what their pre-k had

Ah ok thanks

This week, I received a letter in the mail from a Catholic church in SC. So apparently my ex is trying to get our marriage annulled. We have been divorced for 20 years now. The letter said they wanted to ask me general questions about our marriage. I really don't want to talk to anybody about my past relationship with my ex. The letter said they could issue a subpoena to make me comply. Not sure why she is doing this? She remarried and had a child. So not sure what she has to gain by this? Cont.

My wife works at a school with kids with behavioral issues. The kids are abusive to the teachers/paras and have hit, kicked, pulled hair, as well as have grabbed the privates of teachers/paras. Nothing is ever done about it by higher up. Recently, the principal got kicked in the leg, and it turns out that the superintendent is “pressing charges” against the kid, but won’t do anything for the teachers/paras. What actions can my wife and the teachers take if the superintendent won't do anything?

Just venting. My husband is so much into watching his tv show that he is not at all interested in planning the baby shower or even in making the registry. It just feels that I am doing everything right now and his priorities are just around watching his TV show. I get that he needs his me time but our baby shower is few weeks away and we have not sent out the invite yet, do not have the registry finalized (I cannot do it as he wants to be involved or will make changes over my selection). Contd…

My baby ❤️

How’s your WFH workload, all? This week: Mon: 10 am - 2 am. Tues: 9 am-8 pm. Wed: 10 am-9 pm. Thurs: 10 am - 8 pm. Fri: 9:30 am-8 pm. Sat: 10 am - 7 pm. Sun: noon - 4 pm, then 7 pm - 11 pm.
This ... is ... not ... sustainable! I’m the sole earner and have a kid, so “just quit!” during a pandemic is not it - and “setting boundaries” ain’t easy when I’m always reachable by text/zoom/email. I’m fortunate to have a job, but damn. Working From Home = Working Forever From Everywhere. And it sucks.

Not sure if it would make sense. Advice?
