My friend just let me know that her job, Radish Fiction, is doing layoffs. They gave the employees the decision to either voluntarily quit with severance or stay with the company. But if they stay, there’s still a chance they may be affected by a round of mandatory layoffs.
I’m shocked because the company seemed pretty cool to work at and seemed to be doing fine. I even wanted her to give me a heads up if a role opens. Now, her career is hanging in the balance.

Potential incoming KPMG experienced hire looking to negotiate a comp. Nearing 14YOE with an MS. Currently at 220k base (4-6% annual bonus, 9% 401k match) at a company, and want to bring me on at the Senior Associate level (lol I know, I know). Gonna try to upgrade to a Manager level role if possible. Based on where I’m at, is KPMG going to even be close? I’m okay with a lateral move as well, since I’d like experience and branding also.

Canada’s unemployment hits 5% while I’m unemployed with two masters(science and digital health) and five years of clinical experience 😂 try not to fail your licensing exams. I think it’s just not working. Not even picky. Applied things ranging from clinic manager, project assistant, product assistant and other entry mid-entry level roles. After failing the license exam three months ago, I stopped working with my interim license. I can’t seem to get out of my clinical past to move on.
I know I can’t be the only one... does anyone else only feel physically attracted to men but romantically attracted to woman? All of my past relationships have failed because I cannot get emotionally attached to a man. I’m 28 and I’m barely coming to terms with this... which I yet don’t understand. Anyone have any insight from your own life experience? Analyze me for all you want.
Moving Tier 2->MBB, seems no brainer to me, but would that hurt my MBA admission chances at top schools? ie from being good in tier 2/big four consulting pool to being nobody in MBB applicant pool.

Hi guys, my friend is currently working in HCL and trying to get an offer in cisco. He had some letter to not join cisco later when he joined HCL
. Would like to know will there be any issues if he joins Cisco
Would love to buy a ski condo out West to rent out during the year (have ~$100k for down payment). Any suggestions? Is it a bad idea in this RE environment?
This may seem like a dumb question but whenever I'm in meetings with clients, I tend to bite my lip and the inside of my mouth. It's something I've dealt with since I was younger but whenever I'm nervous it's like second nature to do so. My manager noticed it and included it in my mid-year review. I genuinely have tried everything and I don't know how to stop 😭 any advice?
Seems like anyone can become a producer. An admin, the summer associate. WTF! And you have no one to train you. Your ep is lazy and doesn’t care. What’s happening to production? Does anyone care?

Does Google ever give out raises that aren't tied to perf/grad?
Also, what can I expect for a base increase with an EE and SEE? Last year was my first year with Google and I got YE promo, so I don't know what to expect this year.
Hey Googlers - I’ve been trying to get into Google for the last 4 years. Went on-site to interview for 6 different roles, all except for 2 made it to the hiring committee but was not able to convert.
I recently finished interviews for a GCP Manager, PSO role (non-technical) and had a call with the recruiter to move forward in the offer review process. Few questions - how do I know what level this role is? Anything I should know or expect going into this process for negotiating?
Got the results from my on site and they are moving in a different direction. Pretty bummed bc I thought I nailed all the interviews. The recruiter said I’m a good fit for google and to apply again.
Looking to exit Deloitte as a SM with 10 years of experience of providing advisory services. Anyone willing to provide a referral for opportunities at Google?
I got a referral to Google, and wanted to know what role/s I should apply for that would be easier to get my foot in the door.
My background: Working in business consulting rn (2 months in).
Graduate degree in engineering management from Duke University. Worked for 4 years at a Fortune 500 before grad school, in Ops and Corporate Affairs.
I used a referral to apply to some financial analyst roles. I like how recruiters are willing to personally decline you which opens a dialogue on criticism. I was given resources on improving resumes and interview skills. It seems my resume is in good shape according to the recruiter but I can’t seem to land an interview. Is there anything else left besides a referral and a good resume to get through? I feel like being from the east coast applying to west coast roles is a factor
Are there any large differences between a Strategy lead and Program manager positions? Looking to transition and in the process for a couple of roles. Mainly concerned about job role, longer term progression and internal mobility (will be moving countries in a few years). Speaking to the HMs and reading the job descriptions show very similar job responsibilities for the two roles. Coming in most likely as an L5 in the US
I have my on-site tomorrow for a role that’s a great fit and I just received word that I will have an offer in hand for another company on Monday. The recruiter said they are asking for a response within 48 hrs of me getting the written offer. Is there any chance at all that Google would make a decision by next Wednesday if I conveyed my situation (even if pending HC approval)? I know things tend to move slow but figured I’d get some perspectives from the group here. TIA
Rejected by HC, per recruiter, seems all the hiring managers were ok and looks like I was second choice from the pool of candidates. Recruiter asked me to let know if I come across any suitable role in future, while recruiter will also keep an eye.Not sure how this HC rejection impacts on my future applications?
Big 4 consultant here and just reached by Google for a Global Business S&O Manager role.
Really want to land this position as it’s my dream job. Anyone willing to DM to provide insight on role, interviews and and how to prepare to best land this role?
Would really appreciate any help or insight!
Looking to gain some insight into the culture of the YouTube Global Ops team and what their focus/scope is within the larger org.
Would love to be able to learn more either on here or if anyone is open to an informational chat offline.
Looking to make a switch and think I have a lot to offer with over 11 years of experience in large global strategy, ops, process revamp, and scale programs in media and entertainment (inclusive of leading several rescue efforts).
How or where are you finding recruiters? I’m a TVC and hoping to make FTE but it’s not clear on where to find recruiters and or besides google web search how to find google roles.
Google has very few project managers and mostly has program managers.
I can tell you with 100% confidence these tik tok videos are false. I’m happy to DM about my non tech PgM role.
Just for future reference, PM = product manager and PgM = program manager.
At a company this size there will always be people that find themselves in a low stress roles where they can coast, but in my experience that's not the norm at Google. People tend to be pretty smart and self motivated, so expectations can be quite high. PgM work can vary significantly based on the scope of the role, but is often fast pasted and very meeting heavy.
If your primary motivation is to find a chill job with good pay and benefits, I'd recommend looking at large F500 companies in more mature/legacy industries. Having worked at some of those companies pre Google, the overall pace is much slower, performance expectations are not as high, and it's a lot easier to get by without working all that hard.
(I'm currently a manager of non-tech PgM's at Google)
Those TikTok videos are excuses to buy people’s courses/services. Note how they themselves don’t work at any of these firms. I have a Top MBA, technical and non technical certifications and even I can’t get an email back from Google haha. Not saying it’s not possible, but need to take it one step at a time. Get certifications find an entry level job at small company, gain experience and start from there
A lot of them do work there but are much younger too. Most of the flashy tiktoks are the people in their early 20s
Google alum here. People work very very hard at google. Expectations are quite high. Don't believe any of those videos.
Is there another reason you want to work at Google besides the prospect of being paid a lot to do very little work?
