Go on indeed and look for the postings made by no-name recruiters. They tend to post the same positions more than once.
Now think through what that really means. It means their end client is willing to work with random riff-raff in the recruitment space. Which means the end client is probably engaging some consulting company and these roles just need to be filled.
Everyone is out to make their slice of the pie and really don’t care if you’re over-employed. If someone says they’re hiring full timers then that means you’ll have a W-2 agreement. Ask them “what is the maximum they could give you on 1099?”
As a real independent contractor you can multiply your hourly rate by 50-60% and tell them that that’s your new hourly rate as a contractor.
👊 almost every posting lists whether it is a W-2 (full time with benefits) or a 1099 (contractor, no benefits, higher hourly rate typically, where you’ll get a 1099 form for your taxes) or a C2C (a Corp to Corp, where you’d need to spin up your own LLC, probably will be asked for like a $1M insurance policy).
When doing a 1099, remember to set aside 30% for Uncle Sam. Unless you really wanna walk on the wild side and not pay any taxes at all, as outlined here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVXvqNOa7PSpuVYuVltGmKoRqfP4aeLkN&si=qxMhjUcMZ3Jg25c-

I don't have your skillet, but most folks in that realm look for contract work as opposed to full time work. Contract work tends to be more flexible and favorable toward results over time punched. I would follow this model of searching for contract work and ask very good questions during the interview/hiring process. You could also consider freelance on sites like Fiverr or Upwork.
Good luck!
