Currently a CPA and was at BCG before my MBA and am back there now. As a result, don’t have any public accounting experience. Is it realistic to pursue a CFO track position post-MBA? What set of experiences and casework would be most helpful?

Would you recommend going to INSEAD FT instead? Trying to minimize the financial hit.

I prepared a presentation for an interview with a sales leader, it went well and I was offered a final interview with regional manager. The sales leader I interviewed with gave me a bunch of feedback, but said to find out information about tech stack, which I for some reason, didn’t consider. I come to find out that deep, hidden within the website of the hypothetical client, they use the service already. Do I roll into the final interview and play dumb or do i present and then come clean?

I’ve been in PA for 1.5 years. Currently in TAS. I love the work. I don’t love the hours as I have young kids who I don’t get to spend much time with during the week. Whats an industry job that is also interesting but is a typical 40 hour week job and pays well? I’m not interested in a traditional accounting role since I worked industry in college and it seems mundane and repetitive. Is that just the nature of industry? Can FP&A be interesting? Any insight helps!

My SM on a new project is an extreme early bird (read: 7 and 8AM meetings on the regular). I get that he's busy with other commitments but this is too early for my brain to wake up! Suggestions on how to tune in and maintain attention?

I have an offer from BCG gamma the a for Software Engineer role.

The constant feedback in all interviews was "Long working hours ". Hiring manager said 10-12 hours is normal. It goes upto 13-15 sometimes.
Is it really this bad? If this is then how is it sustainable?

I have offers from firms that will surely not have this long hours. Should I drop BCG and join one of them?

Together 10 months, living together, I’m paying all the bills and any extras (dining out, vacation, etc).

She went back to school and has some minor obligations to study etc but she surfs several hours a day and it bugs the hell out of me. Btw surfing was how we met and something we enjoy together and she doesn’t try to wait for when we can go together (lunch).
