Hi All, I have been working in IT Audit and doing a lot of pre implementation reviews, security design assessments of ERPs for the last 3 years. Prior to that I was working as an SAP consultant for 5 years. I feel like I have reached a saturation point and looking to branch into cyber security.

What is the best roadmap to start the process? I have a masters in MIS and a CISA. What certifications and projects would help me get into cybersecurity space? TIA!

You can try the CISSP, but it takes a while to get certified. The dirty secret is, networking gets you further in a transferring than any certification. If people like you and are willing to refer you, you’ll get interviews and hopefully a job. In this current market go to the advisory bowl and see if anyone Im cyber security advisory will refer you with your background. Had a friend in college that networked internally and got moved to cyber in 3 months, and they have zero certs and just a bachelors degree in non IT fields.

Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Hello, I am a junior business administrator working in advisory operations. I have been with the company for 6 months, and was employed along with 2 other colleagues. I have picked the job up really fast and am even doing some “extra curricula’s” I really love my job. However I have recently found out I am being paid the same as an apprentice on my team, I usually do at 3 x the work he does whilst also doing my Cert CII. It has really disheartened me and I feel I should be earning more money

So would it be smarter to make the move now as a first year staff since I’ll be considered Experienced Hire anyway?
