Hi folks, how is thoughtworks as an organisation?
Asking because I don't know much about it and have received recruiter's call today. Currently I am working in Deloitte. How is thoughtworks hikes, wlb, does it provide any benefits apart from fixed pay? My research gives me a mixed review: some say it's good, some say that thoughtworks is not stable enough like big 4 or other organisations. Pls help Thoughtworks Deloitte

Do it you are disposable as an employee they don’t actually care about you. Live your life.
This is the right answer.

Do it. You only live once. They will be fine.
As long as you’re notifying project partners in advance of dates you’ll be gone, doing your work and doing it well to prep before you leave, providing a contact for questions while you’re OOO, and you jump right back in after you return, there’s no reason not to. Your team is qualified, they can manage perfectly well in the meantime. Life is too short, live it while you’re here.
I have done this and idc. I rarely take less than a whole week off because it’s a waste for me. I need a full 1-3 weeks.
Do it!! Communicate it upfront and a good team will be able to organize resources to fill the gaps.
Another option out there: leave of absence between projects :)
Def taking 2 weeks off this summer. Shoutout EYP for actually honoring unlimited PTO 🙏
Taking off a few week’s demonstrates self confidence. If your team is so dependent on you being there, fix that problem, then take off a month. My colleagues don’t apologize for taking a month off to go home during the Summer. Act like the French people.
Agreed, I feel like seniors are impressed when you take care of your shit and properly prep the team for your PTO
I admire how conscientious you are. I'm sure you're an asset to your team. That being said, work is a process, and it is your employer's responsibility - not yours - to ensure that process can continue when employees take time off. Good employers see it that way and respect their employees' need for time off and a healthy work-life balance. Bad bosses don't respect employees needs and boundaries and see them only as a means to an end. Please get in the habit of insisting on being respected.
YOLO!
Just talk to your team, once it's approved go to town and have a ball!
Don’t see an issue with this if there is notice. Also might be smart to plan it around directly after the project ends if that makes you feel better. Live your life!
Thanks all for the amazing comments and support, this makes me feel a lot more confident about my decision! I'm planning a Japan trip over the summer and want to make the most of it since flight tickets are pretty expensive right now. I'm a workaholic most of the year so when I go on break I prefer to do long stretches to reset. Appreciate it! :)
they will literally be fine. put you first
Do it.
