My background is 7 years of military experience, an MBA, and ~5 years of consulting experience at a T2 firm. My consulting experience has been on the corporate/commercial side (copious amounts of commercial due diligence & growth strategy engagements) but I'm now looking to leverage more of my previous military experience for the next phase of my consulting career.

Hi 🐠. I have a sibling that recently emigrated to Toronto and trying to land into healthcare consulting. Her background: MD degree, PhD in public health and currently doing diploma in cybersecurity. All of her degrees are from Asia. She has mostly spent her career as an academic in Asia and has extensive research and publications in public health. Any suggestions on what types of opportunities exist for her in Toronto?

Having thoughts about leaving Tax for a smaller Co that specializes in SALT credits and incentives... but could this limit me down the road experience wise if I decided to leave there? I have a diverse experience now, but I don’t want to be looked at as only SALT later.

All else equal, is it easier to become direct admit PP rather than promoted to that role from SM or MD? Seems less obstacles. Thoughts?

Boutique or big 4?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

I'm also in the process with Accenture but I feel like I'm not sure if I'd jump just for the money but also change in environment.
What type of things would you be asking yourself if you were in my shoes and debating to jump ship?

What skills must one build upon to pivot from Investment team at a PortCo of a mega fund (>$300 Bn), to investment team at a PE?

Anyone here broken into real estate private equity from big 4 consulting? What steps did you take to jump into RE PE? What gaps in knowledge did you have and how did you fill them? Outside of the knowledge gaps what other things do you think you needed in order to get into RE PE?

What are good consulting exit opportunities in India within Pharma post consulting? - for a person with 13 years of overall experience of which 8 years is in management consulting. Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.
