How technical interviews happen in UK ?
Hi Folks, I submitted documents 2 weeks ago for BGV in Tech Mahindra. I have not got any response so far from HR. However, last week they scheduled another interview and dropped me email just before 15 mins, yet i joined the interview but no one joined from their end. Now, HR is not responding. What should I understand from this case? Am I rejected? Tech Mahindra Tata Consultancy

What is 365 days before maxing out? Also check if you have an opportunity to recapture time.
Under the AC21 rule, if your PERM has been filed at least 365 days before you hit your 6-year H-1B max, you become eligible for 1-year H-1B extensions beyond the 6-year limit. But my ends earlier so not eligible
Will try the recapture route. Thank you
What M1 said. I was in a slightly similar boat last year and I found a way to recapture 60 days by taking multiple trips outside the country.
I work at a company where we have “unlimited” PTO so I took advantage of that. That being said, I communicated with my project team and I was basically working (technically not legal) but charging to PTO for some of the days and I also had to take 1 week of unpaid time off.
Tbh, it wasn’t that bad for me, I went and visited friends in different countries and I liked my project so working didn’t feel like work even if I was billing to PTO (cause I was technically off but elected to still write code / do my job).
This same thing might work for you, the trickiest part will be coming back to the U.S. If you don’t already have your H1B stamp expiring at the end of the year then you will need to figure that out. I didn’t have a stamp so one of my trips was actually to get the new stamp.
Hopefully this helps.
From what I read about AVR, seems like 30 days at a time, not 30 days altogether so you might be able to do it in multiple trips.
Utilise weekends and take advantage of holidays like 4th of July. Not sure what company you work for but a lot of consulting companies give a full week off for 4th of July so you can take PTO the week before and/or after and with the weekend that’s like 15-22 days.
Also take advantage of religious holidays if you can. Ramadan is here so you could probably get some time off for Eid. And finally, use your PTO.
Try to make it work and again, I wish you the best! Keep posting here if you need to talk through any of it.
Did you just join the company recently? Why didn’t the file your PERM sooner?
I joined the company two years ago, but they wasted 1.5 years in the PWD process. They had to go through recruitment and PWD multiple times. By the time we reached the PERM phase, it was already too late.
