Are you in the US? If so, that's normal. I'm in Canada and for these jobs we get like 85k lol so take it. I think there's some profit sharing or something like that.
Hopefully you do the best in your new position!
Thank you so much!! 😁
I am an AVP in a MCOL city with 3 years experience making $102,500 base in a risk function. When I first started the job I was happy with my pay, but now I feel underpaid, especially since new hires are making $110-115k without a masters degree. I obtained a masters degree and still make less than the new hires. I hope this helps!
Gotta look internally if you want to stay. It's super difficult to get promoted
with 5-6 yrs of experience, 125k seems low but don’t just decide purely on pay
Thank you for your insightful advice!
That’s a great pay. JP would pay you less
I interviewed w JPMC previously and it was not the greatest experience. I stayed away from them after - I was nervous when MS approached me but I’ve heard they are two different environments!
Is it in LCOL, MCOL, or HCOL
Thanks coming from BofA and wanted to see. I’ll negotiate higher
Yup. That’s standard NYP AVP salary. Max for MO I believe is 130 so push for that.
It’s fair for a Project manager. JP pays way less
AVP in NYC for BO or MO usually around $125-$135k without bonus
Back office / middle office
What is MCOL / HCOL? Making $130k plus a 20k bonus outside of NYC is very good pay fyi
base only?
Thanks, do you work for MS? It helps regardless
If it is BO then it sounds about right as I think VP BO starts around $150k in NYC, at least for Tech. So it would make sense that your approaching the high end of the range.
Yes back office
130k avp here.
AVP= what role
VP=what role
What division is the position at MS?
Rising Star
In a MCOL or HCOL city? Do you have school above a bachelors? If you have more than a bachelors here in a MCOL that is low for finance. What sector do you work in? Like accounting, finance, analytics?
Rising Star
What’s the role? Depends if it’s front office, MO, BO
I’m assuming this is in WM. Do you what division? CIS?
I get paid more than that.
At CO1 what’s your function/role ?
What is senior manager equivalent to in Morgan Stanley or BofA ?
I think negotiations should occur prior to acceptance
You’re right!
Have you gotten an offer letter yet? I verbally accepted almost two weeks ago and it seems to be taking awhile…
I did - I got it within 1-2 business days after verbally accepting
