To my knowledge there is not a lower position than CTA. I would keep trying at CROs. When I was a CTA, I had no experience and neither did any of my coworkers. They mostly just want a science degree. Job market is just rough right now.
Thank you
It can be challeneging but consider changing your applications methods, follow & reach out to Clinical Research recruiters. Follow/befriend people in the roles you’re applying for on LinkedIn. NMay be helpful to live in areas with CRO companies…Raleigh NC, Triangle NC & surrounding areas or parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California. Or try applying at universities & community colleges first. Also check out hospitals.
With little experience it can be challenging to get noticed, but even a internship or working in a lab can look good on your resume.
Recognize that not every job post is real, so following recruiters on LinkedIn & interacting with them can help. Some recruiters will ghost/ignore you but don’t give up. Keep pushing & do some research on resume writing on YouTube.
Thank you for your insight!
I started off doing volunteer clinical research stuff in the summer (qualitative interview at seniors homes) and landed a clinical research job at the end of summer. I had around 3 years of wet lab research work experience before that tho, and speak an extra language that was required for the job. Stars aligned! See if volunteering is something you could do on the side.
Thanks for the advice!
I guess job market for entry level is tough now. We have an entry level clinical position at my department, the chance of getting hired is 1:400ish ratio this year.
Thanks for the insight!
I am in the same situation..
