I cleared the assessment and interviewed for an Analyst role at Northern Trust on 1st December 2024, but I haven't received any updates from HR since then. I even sent a follow-up email and no response. Has anyone else faced a similar situation with Northern Trust? Is it common for their recruitment process to be delayed, and should I wait or I should reach out to them by other means

Any suggestions or insights on how to proceed in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Have final round interviews at BCG tomorrow. I'm at S& right now at the SA level. Father had a sudden health issue come up this week and it's got me off my game. I'll ultimately need to support him financially for at least a year while he recovers. Not complaining, but has me considering just dropping out of the interview process. Is that crazy? Is the opportunity with BCG really so far beyond what I have already with S&? Is dropping a better look than interviewing and doing terribly?

When drafting a brief or other submissions for court or arbitration, do you use words such as clearly, erroneously, etc. to emphasize certain points? Our managing partner says that we should, but all of the writing guides for litigators that I've read repeats the mantra "show, don't tell" and explain that most judges dread such words.

I know that the politically correct thing to do here is to do whatever the managing partner wants me to do, but I just wanted to ask for other ppl's opinion.
