Hi everyone,
I’m an architectural designer with 3+ years experience. I was working at executive architect firm. However, I’m having visa status transition stage from OPT to CPT. Can anyone please share their company accepting CPT as a full time employee? I really had a hard time finding a job with CPT status. Thank you so much!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but full time CPT is mostly for summer internships, no? This is before the degree is received, and eats at your 12 OPT months you get post graduation.

Part time CPT is ok (below 20 hours) and some schools like NYSID offer that (student has to pay for that module). They usually get underpaid.

If your degree is in architecture like mine, wouldn’t you have more luck applying for STEM-OPT after your 1 year OPT ends?

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

The reason for my move is currently at Pega SCs are treated more as AEs or Account Managers. The role at Oracle would be more of a true SC position. I also feel that Oracle will look BETTER on a resume and someone as young as me would have BETTER programs in place to train me and give me the foundation needed to be a successful SC.

Thoughts?

Hi everyone, I’m an architectural designer (from Europe) with 1.5 yrs experience. I’m working for a practice in San Francisco, full-time from the office, getting 25 an hour. It is so expensive to live here, I am struggling to make things work. Is this a normal salary for someone of my experience or should I ask for a raise? I don’t want to be greedy but it’s so expensive out here… Thank you 🌈

I recently moved to Dubai after getting married. I am still continuing my last job but eventually I'll hv to find a new opportunity here. I am from architecture background and wud like if someone who could help me with a referral. As far as my capabilities are concerned, I hv personally loved teaching and managing projects cz I am able to connect with my team/students and get the job done. So it'll be great if someone would want to give me a chance for who I am personally and not just on paper
