I’m considering switching to ML. Is it a good decision?

I’ve been a Backend Developer (Node.js) for 4 years. In college, I did Andrew Ng’s ML & Deep Learning courses and built a basic project using transfer learning.

Is it feasible to switch now? How’s the current ML job market?

Just got an offer from another big 4 for a 50% increase in base.
Should I take it or stay where I am and keep pursuing an exit to Tech?
Will it be more difficult to exit if I take it?

What kinds of strategy projects would best prepare you to exit to a clinical stage pharma start-up and support their business strategy through clinical trials / an ipo?

I know someone earings 50 lakhs per annum with 5 years of experience in .net full stack technology. Is it possible this much growth in 5 years.

Anyone who is ex-consulting and moved to industry miss the events? I don't miss the lack of WLB, but I miss getting tickets to conferences, team events and DU.
Pandemic has been good and bad, since I guess no one is going anywhere, but also because industry office is closed so no in-house events either. Miss getting varied experiences across different clients and industries that consulting offered.
Anyone else feel like their world shrunk a ton when they left consulting for industry?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?
