Joining PwC UK soon on a skilled worker visa & my offer includes a clawback policy regarding visa costs.

It mentions that I'll need to repay the costs if I resign within 2 years or terminated for gross misconduct or given a notice of termination during this period. Will this also apply in case of layoff due to market conditions owing to current UK economic situation?

Any insights on PwC UK's current market conditions & layoff situations would be really helpful. Thankyou! @PwC UK

My temp contract has been extended. I’m relieved to be able to pay the bills, but after giving 70-80 shots a day, I literally dream about giving vaccines almost every night! Struggling to keep positive about finding a new permanent job - I was laid off at the end of April, have applied to over 60 jobs, had 6 interviews, and no offers. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

My LinkedIn feed was absolutely filled with layoffs today. What happened? A month or two ago it was a candidate’s market and the offers were great but now everything has shifted. I was informed that I am not getting a promotion that I was gunning for, and when I pushed back about being fairly compensated for my work the response about it not being a good time to ask was really ominous. So as we were the first to get hit with COVID in NY, we are seeing declines in numbers now. Travelers are cut short of their contract, our hours are getting cut, and staffs are laid off. Got a call yesterday from HR that now staffs need to file for unemployment to compensate for the lost hours. We risked our lives for this fight, now they are letting us go. Shit’s fucked.

I feel like my insurance company bait and switched me. For initial prescription and subsequent refill was $0. Went to pick up today and was going to be $500. Glad there’s alternatives but who would pay $500 for a month’s worth of pills.

I just moved here so this might be a dumb question so please don’t judge. Why does my laundry smell like pee and how can I fix it? I used a common washer and dryer in my building. Is it because of that? Is it mold? Is it the water? I air dry my workout leggings and they all smell really weird and I don’t know what to do 😔
