Working in Risk Management, looking into the FRM exams. Does anyone have any insight or advice?

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

Interviewing soon with EY for a senior role (TD FSO). I originally applied for their core practice but the recruiter convinced me that since I’m coming from a financial services audit background, I’d be better suited for their FSO practice. Assuming I get the job, would exit opportunities be worse if I am in FSO instead of the core group? Thanks!

I am planning to shift to Data Analyst/Data scientist role. Right now i work for a project where I'm a software eng & we have to maintain our application on C++ code. It is more like support/dev and unit testing combined. Coding is hardly involved and my hold on DS is weak so not sure if I'll be able to crack technical interviews for C++ dev or anything similar.
So is this a right decision to move from application dev role to Data Science/analyst field? Does software engineer gets paid more?

I’ve been doing ID for about 2 years now. Mostly slip and fall and WC work. Long-term, I want to move out of ID. I’m currently interviewing at a firm that does ID, but mostly does insurance coverage opinions. They also do some more complex ID, such as L&E.

With the ultimate goal of moving completely out of ID, would this be seen as a step up? I appreciate any and all feedback. TIA

Anyone have recommendations on how to switch to a client side role in a different city/part of the country? I'm still fairly junior with a few years under my belt but I've always targeted this specific company as my "dream company" and feel now is the time to try to make a move before a) being called back to the office and b) while the job market is hot. I’ve been practicing for 6 years in-house at a media company (was a startup when I joined and is now more established), straight out of law school. Due to the small nature of our team (3 legal members), I have been involved in all areas of our business and even advise c-suite frequently about legal risks.
