Hi 🐠, just want to know what are the options if one gets laid off while on H1B. I have an approved i140 whereas my spouse only has an H1B, if I don’t get a job within 60 days can I change my visa to dependent and stay in this country and do job hunting? Once I land the job, I just need to do h1 transfer and later apply for i140?

I‘m moving to Australia with my partner and we don’t have a bank account and credit cards yet. We basically need the bank account only for everyday finance stuff (local payments, debit card, etc) and we‘re looking for some credit cards with good international fees and ideally a reward program to collect some points for traveling.

My mother in law got scammed by a con artist from the UK online and lost $7K (damn you Facebook!)

Her status in the US is currently complicated and she doesn’t have a green card(tho she’s working on it), my wife(her daughter) is American.

I want to report this to the FBI’s elder fraud department but I don’t want to complicate her situation even more.

Does anyone know if criminal stuff like this and immigration related things are separated?
