Omg why is everyone a hater these days???? OP Start applying to other big 4 companies, and then look into hospitals and universities (you'll get a pay cut but at least they do sponsor H-1b visa holders). Good luck!
Was it really just the utilization?
What's wrong with 72%? Were there any other factors?
I am fairly certain they used ute as an excuse for wanting you out. Did HR give any other reasons?
Awk moment when it wasn't the ute
You aren't going to get them to reverse course, period. You need to focus on getting your next job now. You can mourn later. Now, you have to take care of the immediacy.
Don't mean to sound rude, but not exactly sure how you're in any position to negotiate severance when they're letting you go.
Tata Consulting
Other consulting firms would be a starting point
Only because of utilization? Hmm... 🤥🤔
My last client project performance was the other reason they gave me where I was just for 7 weeks. 3 weeks in April and 4 weeks in May. Thing to keep in mind is that the performance year ends on April 30. A month ago my RP had said that I had a really good year with excellent rating and real time recognition awards and said it's a clear cut rating of 3 or 2. And last week he said that due to util and performance on last 7 week project, I landed on year end rating of 5 and they are letting me go. Any ideas on how to fight back this whole thing?
Yeah, you arent being laid off in their eyes - you are being fired for performance with a bottom rating. No chance of negotiating anything, just start looking for a new job and hope for the best.
sorry to hear that op... the only option you actually have is to apply for another job... given the unemployment criteria for h1b, i would suggest don't waste time... best wishes from fellow fish🙂
Seems like they used utilization as an excuse

Does not sound like utilization was the only factor
Sorry to hear this. Probably no way to move them on severance unless you negotiated it into your employment contract on start.
Did you do a shit job on your last engagement? Take it as a learning experience if anything
You don't have a leg to stand on in 'fighting back' as an H1B holder.
What practice are you in?
