Hi! So I received an email from the EY lawyers. They said they have received the notice of approval of my PERM labor certification (ETA form 9089) from the US DOL. And that my priority date is 11/6/2021 in a EB2 visa category. They also told me they submitted my I-140 petition to the USCIS. I just wanted to know how much longer it will take to get my green card. I asked when they will submit the I-485 application and they told me I need to wait to make manager (October 2021)

Last night, I got a nastygram from a client who basically wanted to forego due diligence in a major buyout we’re helping him with. “Stop requesting documents and just draft me my docs.” But we literally don’t know who owns what right now, terrible corporate records. This morning, the partner told me he’ll probably fire this client, big pat on the back.

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

Is 15% increase in TC worth it to move to a smaller firm?

This job is a lot better if you don't care about the bonus and hours requirement. I can pretty easily bill 1700 hours annually and my firm so far hasn't cared in the slightest. Worrying about hitting 2000 hours for the bonus used stress me out so much, and I just don't think it's worth it. Base salaries are ridiculous and way more than enough to finance my lifestyle.
