Hi there,
I am wondering how to get started. I am in need of remote work due to medical issues. I have my BS in Criminal Justice, paralegal certificate and many other certifications. Willing to start as low as I can and work my way up. Would like to find something more part time to start and transfer to full time, but also willing to just do full time. I can travel a little bit, but there are medical things I can discuss with potential employers after an offer.

Remote is not likely without experience, unless you find a desperate solo attorney, and I promise you wouldn't want that job, anyway. You'll need to get something in person before you can land a remote gig. Hybrid is a possibility. Getting your foot in the door is going to be the hardest part, and leading with needing a remote role isn't going to do you any favors in your search.

It's harder. I have worked from home, but even entry level jobs they advertise seem to be scams. The reason why I have to be remote is medical. I've been let go or had to leave jobs because of that same situation where they say I take too many days for medical.

I am currently expecting, have informed my team. Since the organisation is in hybrid mode, when discussed earlier i was told that it is flexible in terms of wfh depending on my health condition. But now my department wants me to be in office twice a week irrespective of the prior discussion. Still half of the office is on hybrid mode. Is it a fair ask?

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

What do you think?

Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.
