I’m on the same boat my friend. Don’t listen to all these doubters that are like “why would a good performer be let go”.. I had great feedback, great YE ratings, and everything from a compliance and all that was good. I was still let go because I was on the beach for 4 weeks. Not my fault since the 2 projects that I was lined up for didn’t sell. At that point the firm saw me as cost and let me go. I’m still struggling to digest it from an emotional standpoint, but at the end of the day I’m looking at this as an opportunity to get better opportunities than Deloitte. I hope you find something better than Deloitte too!

I can refer you to kpmg if interested.

@OP. I was laid off too but great performance reviews and 105% utilization this year. Work that network and even apply without referral if needed. I’m starting in 2 weeks at a startup with 56% TC increase, so keep your hopes up!

Think positive. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Things look crappy now. Cry out. Pull yourself together. Reach out to your contacts. And pray to whatever you believe in. Life will turn around. Have faith in yourself and your capabilities.

High performer being laid off seems counter productive.

like

You’d think so, but it’s been an odd couple of months around here

like

What was the reason if you were a high performer?

like

Two thoughts:

1) They are truly a long term high performer but their practice saw weak demand and deep cuts were implemented.
2) They were rated highly last review cycle but performance has tailed off since, potentially related to #1 above.

Good people can get unlucky.

Happy to refer to Accenture if there’s a role that interests you. Feel free to DM.

OP, please don't worry. I was able to get 2 jobs within 30-40 days even with my Visa situation after being laid off. I also disclosed to every potential employer that I was laid off and requested to expedite process and they were very understanding. You'll be fine ! Good luck :)

Hi KPMG1, I don't know if I have that feature but here is more info if it'll help. I'm at analyst level and was only looking for entry level positions. So that might have made it easier. I just reached out to companies I already interviewed with previously in school or those companies in which I had friends working in and got referrals.

Is D doing another round of lay-offs?

like

Sorry to hear. Which offering are you?

Hang in there. You got this and will find something in no time!

Did you have bad metrics?

Chin up OP. Make sure you’re out of bed every day by 10am. Trust me, it sounds easy but some days it’ll be hard. Getting laid off was one of the best things for my career that’s ever happened. You’ll be back at it in no time.

What is a good interview answer for leaving a job after a few months when the real reason is that you’re sleeping with one eye open in hopes of not being on the chopping block after two rounds of massive layoffs? Company culture is at an all-time low, and it will only go down from here from what I’ve seen in the short months I’ve been there.

Post 3 months, I apply for a transfer. Transfer process delayed for some process reasons

Recently fired without reason

I just got laid off from my job as a gov contractor because the project I was working on ended. I’m currently a grad student part time and was hoping to work that job until finishing grad school before applying to consulting roles. Should I go ahead and try applying for those roles now since I don’t have a job? Or should I wait since I’m still in school until next May?

So, after a year of not so quietly making it known that I wanted to make the transition from the tech side to the business side I have officially been extended an offer to take on a Project Manager internally (coming from a software configurer). The client I have been assigned to has many of our products, however, the specific project I have been assigned to is a problem child and has damaged the companies relationship with the client. Junior Associates - How much student loan debt are you and your peers in these days? A few young partners and counsel at my firm were discussing the student loan moratorium and most of us were convinced we could have paid the majority of our loans off with the bonuses associates got these last two years. So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
