Hello Guys,
I joined Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?
As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

The VC will vary depending on group and overall performance of the firm. I was in the same boat my first year (two years ago) and got a16% bump and 4% VC. Last year (no promotion) got an additional 11% bump and 5% VC. I was told that it was “unique” and “uncommon” to get promoted your first year, but worked my ass off and made it. Make it clear to your PML partner that you are aiming for that promotion. Your PML should know by now if you are on track to be considered for promotion.
Thanks @kpmg1!
At PwC would be $5k salary bump and depending on the group $3-8k bonus
Note - I came in middle range as I didn’t have Big4 experience before joining (public sector). So may have had a higher than normal bump to even that out.
Initially i think it should be 5-10%, then more for each subsequent review. Bonus is free dinners and the chance to be an almighty partner. Maybe kpmg has a bonus pool? Like 3k? After mba the bonuses recently have been like 30k which is absurd but real. Although if ur already doing well in consulting then a better post-mba career path seems imminent.
I always thought our promotion bumps were 20%... OP for promotion, if you’re not at the top end of the range, 20% is reasonable.
Variable comp maybe like 7%..
Promotion your first year isn’t something that happens often. Has your pml hinted at this? Your salary bump is dependent on your current salary. Some associates at 70 will see a larger bump then the ones at 80
P1 what are you talking about? Promotion would be at least 10-15k for an exp associate, possibly more depending what he was hired at Bonus would depend but probably like 8-14%
@kpmg1 thanks! Very helpful as I also came from public sector/MPH and was told the same thing. Everyone at all levels have been very supportive and confident that ill get the promo, all thinking I've been a senior the entire time. Definitely been vocal about the desire for promotion and just started getting pulled into a few internal presentations and external group representation roles.... review discussions just took place this past week so hoping to know results very soon. I'm hoping for the 15-20% raise.. currently at 75k. I know variables are likely lower this year as the firm is reconfiguring to higher fixed/ lower vc. Does anyone know if we can negotiate once we know the promo numbers?
@pwc2 haha I was thinking I'm glad I'm not at pwc bc that its far off from what I'd ever expect and would definitely seek new employment!
@sa1 do you know the ranges? Or Are those published somewhere? 20% would hit my ultimate target of where I think I should be, given I could have been sr. This year
OP - depending on what market you are in 75k may be on the higher end for an Associate. Know a few people lower than that in many markets, but you should see a 15-20% bump.
