I don't mind the big flex, but you and LinkedIn "influencers" really have no clue what the word "humble" means. 🤨

It was the “I swear I’m humble” for me 🤣
Thank you is sufficient. Leave it at that.

You’re reading way too much into people being nice. No one cares that much about your accomplishments except your parents. Chill
Chief
Yeah, 23 yo and fit, would you like a medal Chad? Def not impressed.
People give you compliments because they are nice. Say thank you and try being nice too.

Maybe stop bragging so much

Must be rough being so awesome, like this baby gorilla.
The baby gorilla is paying a compliment to the dandelion by intense staring 🧐. And the dandelion is content and grateful for the opportunity to be appreciated. Lol, cute picture.

Jesus Christ...so many people have no self awareness, it's shocking
Also, if people are complimenting OP on the things he mentioned, it’s likely because he is talking about them.
I also used to talk about my high school & college accomplishments like grades and awards and test scores until I realized that no one actually cares. Those are things you do for you to make your life better. They don’t need to involve other people.
What other people do care about is interesting stories, kind and compassionate actions, and open and validating two-sided conversations, to start.
OP, you’re probably a good person, but the only people that really give a shit about your accomplishments are you and your parents. If these conversations make you uncomfortable, you can be doing more to steer the conversations in a different direction
I don't think when ppl call you a "Chad" they are complimenting you 😂. Regardless you have a long way to go before you accomplish something meaningful so stay grounded

Maybe try acknowledging how privileged you are. That way you can shift the awkwardness back to them.

i know this isn’t the question but i’m really curious… was there a caregiver gave you more love the more you achieved? being an overachiever can be from childhood trauma (not always something big). often times humans who have trouble receiving with the overachieving nuance are used to receive in conjunction with performing so you might dig deeper here.
i’d also be curious when you do receive, how does that feel in your body? what happens physically?

TAS, I know it’s so overdone in here that it’s also become a running joke, but it’s actually therapy lol. Unless you can provide healing to yourself, a therapist can help you recognize your past traumas and work through them.
This does sound egotistical and big headed. You clearly know you are doing well. People compliment you, and you say thank you. It's not rocket science, although I'm sure you'd ace that class without cracking a book too 😉.
Chief
You only got masters? Talk to me when you get a PhD, imagine what kind of compliments I get all day long!!
And oh yeah, I swear I’m humble.. but also super fit.
Just say thank you and practice gratitude. Sounds like you have the right perspective jusr don’t over think it. Give back when you can and keep goin
You’re under utilizing your capabilities if you’re just using all that goodness to just have a regular job and make some money. People who are doing worse than than just compliment you. The world is conditioned to compliment and encourage the minimum you do.
Then just accept compliments for these mundane things, and set your sights and measure yourself against those “other things”, which btw are not just money related. That will keep you grounded and not feel like a runaway overachiever
I appreciate your confession. Can I get a referral to Apple?

But I don’t know how many times I can say thank you before it gets super awkward. Sometimes when I get compliments for these things I feel like I have to give a compliment back, which I don’t have a problem doing but it just feels super awkward sometimes. Not really sure how to handle praise in a healthy way I guess is what I’m trying to say. I swear I’m humble and I don’t think I’m better than anyone else. I always try to help and I give advice when people ask for it. Sometimes it just feels weird
Just thank God everyday. It’s about how you use the blessings that He gave you. Ultimately at the end of your life you’ll be questioned on how you used your blessings. Knowledge, money etc. Give back, and your blessings will grow! Being humble is awesome. I would just say thank God!
You might be overthinking it. Just say thank you and that you’re grateful and appreciative for said achievement.
I don’t think people will have a reason to say you’re bragging unless you’re harping on your achievements.

🥴
As someone older than most here, things that are important now won't seem so important later in life, and you'll find that people have done some pretty amazing things that you don't know about until you actually take time for a conversation. You're OK though. Just say thanks. Time will fix some of this LOL.

Handle praise:
I think you think it’s weird because you don’t feel you deserved it. Your synopsis suggests that although you have a high station you did not really hustle for it (and therefore its not praiseworthy)
Underlying Issue:
From what little you posted I think the problem is you’re not really motivated. You surround yourself with plebs and given your fortunate circumstances they think you are awesome. This reinforces lack of drive because if this earns praise, whats the point of actually hustling?
Suggestion:
Surround yourself with people that impress YOU. I promise you they won’t be praising your two rentals and all-in VTI portfolio. Not wealthier people per se, just more accomplished people. Everything you listed sounds so incredibly mundane and boring to me, and I know you know it is. Note: this doesn’t mean you need to ditch your current friends, just means you need to expand (diversify) your sample size of personal feedback (the praise).
PS:
Feel free to reach out to me if you need someone to neg you more 😉
