Hang in there! What this tells me:
1. You’re getting the interview. You’re resume looks very good, your recruiter is good as well.
2. Your not getting the offer. That means someone else beat you during the interview. Sometimes it’s skill based, sometimes it’s culture fit, sometimes it’s you (said something bad).
I’d analyze the issue, and keep pushing on!
You got it man.
Thank you! This was helpful, just have to keep going and improve and hope something works out
The job market is incredibly competitive right now. It’s unrealistic to assume things will stay this difficult. You would’ve had a job by now under normal conditions, and you’ll find one quickly once society recovers if you haven’t before then. I recently finally got an offer I’m happy with after months of searching.
seriously so happy for you because I know how relieved I would feel if I had an offer lol 😂 thank you, going to keep trying and keep applying!
I will say, it can also make a world of difference depending on the right recruiter. I worked with 3 in total; one was awol and I never heard from them, the second gave me great feedback on my resume and informed me realistically of the type of positions I’d be successful in landing, but low balled me on the type of salary I could look for, and the third was great in feedback as well, but also informed me of salary ranges in the current market at my level, and was talking and contacting me everyday on positions. With this third recruiter, I applied for a job and went through the interviews and landed the position by the end of the second week. It was a solid month that I went through this process, but it really kicked into high gear when I worked with a devoted recruiter who listened to what I wanted, reached out and got me interviews with a variety of companies so I can get a feel of what I like while also improving on my interview skills, prepped me for said interviews, etc. I highly recommend reviewing your resume and get some feedback on how it’s presented and if it has capacity to stand out from others, find the right recruiter who will work hard to get you a position you love, and don’t stop. I’m positive you got this, myself and so many already have!! And before working with a recruiter, I applied to 12 places, none of them went anywhere! Have faith, you’ll land a new job in no time!
Are you interviewing for positions in your industry of expertise ? If not, I would find a way to link your resume to the specific roles you are applying for. Finding job duties that are in line with theirs to make your auditing experience look like relatable experience.
Are you following up directly with any of the decision makers or are you being passive and just waiting to hear from the recruiter? Even a quick follow up after the interview saying thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you soon can put you in the front of people's minds and show initiative and excitement. Don't be afraid of stepping on the recruiters toes...they are there to get you in the door, nothing more. It's on you to sell yourself and close the deal. The recruiter will get their commission regardless.
