I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.

I spent two years in Retail Bank, too, selling checking accounts in my twenties at Wells. Great foot in the door, but you got to get out of that branch pronto. You won’t make any money there.
I have a HS Diploma only, college doesn’t matter. 18 years later I’m a Discretionary Portfolio Manager at a major firm making $200k+.
Go to Schwab, TIAA Cref, or Fidelity. Look for an entry level position as a salaried Financial Advisor, or other way in. Those are great places to start. Finish that CFP, don’t worry about the Masters, the CFP is important here. MBA It’s kind of a joke in our industry…plenty of people get MBA then still can’t move up. It comes down to YOU.
Not likely. Anything in S&T, AM, etc. Is all pretty competitive, with a minimum requirement being completion of an undergrad from a good school.
You definitely won’t get an opportunity working for a BIg 5 and it’s not really adding anything to your resume.
Your best bet if you want to take an unconventional route is to network like CRAZY and hope to god one of those connections land and they give an unproven kid a shot.
Life’s crazy and sometimes to land a crazy opportunity with someone willing to take the risk.
Also, obtaining the CFP requires a Bachelor Degree…..so just know that.
If I were starting over, knowing what I know now? I would forget the Undergraduate (unless your close to finish), everyone has that… you NEED a designation to set yourself apart and really develop those revenue generating skills.
The AAMS or CPM don’t require a degree. If you love the markets, and enjoy trading….these would be an excellent education path and put some letters after your name.
It’s very rare that a firm would care about your personal trading account especially for Sales and Trading. A lot of people who got S&T roles got them by “luck” or by networking their but off. Most of the Sale traders I know weren’t even thinking about being in that role, they kinda just got offered it. But anything is possible.
