Groups and teams are smaller than public client groups in general, but there are still plenty of 15-25+ size teams depending on client, but I'd say most teams are only a couple associates like 2-5 (inclusive of seniors). Culture obviously depends on office but usually a lot closer than public groups. Hours and busy season timing really depends on your jobs but if you're a high performer you will be rewarded with a basically full year busy season of your typical 12/31's then you roll to 3/31's, 6/30's, 9/30's, etc. Hours during peak busy season can definitely be just as bad if not worse than the public groups and the off calendar year end clients can also require 55+ hour weeks as well depending on the turnaround and how much of a mess the client is. I enjoy it to an extent, you learn a TON very quickly, moreso than public groups in my opinion, and the teams are really fun, but it does wear on you quickly in terms of workload and dealing with messy clients.
What PwC 1 said except i work 55-60 hours from January through April. Summer are chilled and lot of social events at least in my office. Senior 3 tier 1 last year. I don’t think high performers necessarily get on difficult jobs. I think some of it is just luck. If you are available and there is a 6/30 clients then chances are you will be on it
