How could a Canadian actuary stand out to American insurance companies as a viable candidate? Having 4 exams already and just under two years experience, is getting the ASA designation a necessity before being entertained as a candidate?

Need help, I have relevant experience and good reputation among team. I want promotion in this cycle to manager level but the thing is the seniors I have, managers and senior managers are with PwC SDC for long time, so they are not ready to promote me with 4.5 years of experience. Can you please guide me on how can make it work?

Been welding for my company for 13+ yrs and I think it’s time for a change. The culture has completely changed and became toxic. My dream is to go independent do mobile/rig welding and repair then potentially have my own shop/store front. I have all the equipment and truck setup to start but don’t know where or how. I am certified to pipeline (API 1104) code in dual processes (GMAW, SMAW) as well as an AWS CWI and a CPWI. Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!!
