Anyone successfully navigate burn out without leaving your current role? Feeling overwhelmed for more than a month and think it might be easier to start fresh than to dig myself out. Worried about the impression I would leave if I left now though.
Asking on behalf of my parent who I think is severely under compensated and needs to go elsewhere: - Associate Director at a F100 w/15+ YOE in this industry - Has an MBA and a PMP - Engineering background (foreign country) with program/project/portfolio management experience in current role Currently making $130-$150K with like a $20-30K bonus. What’s a realistic salary target? Always been a high performer but because English isn’t the first language I worry they’ve been taken advantage of.
How do i find time to shortlist companies, interview / prep for exit etc while working the usual crazy consulting hours? How did you do it or any advice? (Associate here)
Hi fishes. Any knowledge on the best possible SOC code that can be used for H1-B transfer to avoid RFE? Role: Management Consultant - Operations and Supplychain
BCG fish - what is a product manager - pricing role. Got reached out to about an opportunity, but it’s a little unclear what the role entails and what part of the firm it falls under / Reputation
Has anyone taken a LOA or disability for morning sickness? What was your experience? Did you come back to your original role or ask for a less demanding role?
Hi Fishers, I am looking for a role in supply planning at Accenture. There are some good opportunities too on their website. But is there anyone who can refer me to these roles? Need someone who can help get me feedback on the job application.
Is Deloitte Global within the DC structure? Looking at a Global Strategy Sr Consultant role.
Honestly want to know if I am being unreasonable. My husband and I have worked f rom home since the start of the pandemic. Two kids 100% remote until two weeks ago when school started back up. I had to stop my work at 12:30pm every week day to make lunch for the kids and also made some for my husband to took it to his office nook. I typically don’t have time to stop and eat myself since I’m down at minimum those 30 minutes and I work in a bedroom so the smell of food in there is not desired…
Mamas, have you asked for a roll off or less responsibilities on your current project due to pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness? My client is so critical and demanding it’s caused me to have stress hives and panic attacks. I don’t think I can do my role well pregnant and don’t want the stress to cause the baby harm.
Was a bitch? My coworker routinely asks me how I am doing, what I’m working on, if everything is ok, joking that I’m starting my week on Wednesday because I’ve been remote for two days, etc etc. I find it distracting and invasive so today I told them to please stop asking questions that put me on the spot. Was I a bitch?
Anyone exited to AbbVie? Saw a position of interest but curious about culture and WLB, and how much a referral helps vs. cold applying.
Moving into a MM Associate role and I’m a bundle of nerves - any ladies here done the same? How was the adjustment from consulting? Is there a “checklist” of accomplishments I should seek to complete in my first 6mo?
Would it be inappropriate to apply for an ACD position with my title currently at mid level? I have the years of experience to qualify but haven’t been able to get any title promotion, not even to senior, at my current agency for the same reasons I’m looking for a new position. I’ve been looking for senior opportunities and I’m seeing a bunch of ACD positions opening up. Don’t want to look like I don’t know what I’m doing for trying to hop a level.
What’s the freelance world in Asia like? Are freelancers in demand like the US? Or is it totally different over there? And how are remote freelance gigs these days?
While we are in this WFH situation, I like to blast music all day to keep me energized and engaged (when l’m not on Zoom calls). What are y’all listening to? (Spotify user here 💁🏾♀️ and playlist suggestions are welcome)
Starting at Accenture next week and wondering if there are any options to expense work from home stuff equipment as monitors? Thanks!
If WFH became a permanent option and you didn’t have to go into the office or travel to client sites, would you stay in the city you’re currently in? If not, where would you move to?
What are some good questions/ways to get a sense for company culture throughout the interview process? I’m finding it hard to gauge virtually, and I’m always hesitant with online reviews. For context: I’m starting the interview process for a Global Supply Manager position at Apple
Question: Does it give me any edge applying at Google if one of their global recruiters sent me a referral link to apply instead of just applying online? Seems legit.
Does McK still have their referral in place? How about BCG or Bain? Anyone want to refer?
Wait! Most people in this group aren’t mbb! So, this group isn’t how we can network and figure our next steps?
Do people realize that it is risky for an employer to have you on payroll if you aren’t vaccinated? If you get sick, they have to grant you leave and all that. So beyond the other staff, it’s risky to have someone employed and risk they end up with Covid because they will be short on labor. So it’s not unreasonable for an employer to require a vaccine to protect headcount.
Just imagine if your bonus in PA was a % of your total hours charged at market rate... can only dream.
The thing is... how many consultants align with what they’re doing, esp if a client makes junk food or teaches insurers how to avoid paying out? You can serve alcohol and also not drink yourself, no?
I read on Management Consulted that OW don't specifically recruit post-MBA. How accurate is that?
All y'all who be testing providence during webex meetings 😂😂😂 https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/28/us/good-morning-america-will-reeve-no-pants-trnd/index.html
Work in EY advisory. Looking to switch over to industry job for a company which is Channel 1 (EY audits). Never worked for this comp while at EY. Will there still be a non-compete ?
I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?
Looking for reviews on Avalara Inc. Any inputs or feedback about the company & working there? Should we consider a position at manager+ level?
I am currently unemployed but I am very curious about everyone’s company signature having she/her or he/him or they displayed. Are companies forcing people to write the pronouns you need to choose? I honestly never understood why somebody that wasn’t in the LGBTQ community would specify, and I know people are doing it to show support but if I started working again I don’t think I would want to put that in my signature. It seems political. What are your thoughts?
Which work-paper is "your baby"
Hello! I recently applied for a position at KPMG, no referral. Would you fishies kindly share the application review process, how long it might take for them to get back to you, if they get back to you? I know some experiences may differ, please feel free to share your experience, too! If it helps, it's in advisory and technology enablement. Thanks! 🙃
26 y/o EM here with (I think) a increasingly clear path to AP. Do APs go to biz school? Exec MBA? I dont want to be the out of touch w my class and go after a few years as AP but also dont want to slow my trajectory by leaving next year. Thoughts?
pwc foreign Global Mobility offices (IAS) have apparently been asked to confirm if they will remain with pwc or be part of a sale of the GLOBAL MOBILITY practice (presumably the US one). Seems odd, to say the least. I feel for my fellow IAS colleagues (I’m sure the partners past and present may get a sweet bonus / retention payment … others 🤔??).
