Deciding on a career path

I feel like my brain works like a consultant, and I would enjoy consulting, but I also looove all things finance & investing. While I don’t necessarily have extensive experience in the field (most of what I know is self taught, my major is accounting), I want to get involved in it somehow and learn more.

I currently work in audit, I’m not sure what exit opportunities are an option for me for the investing/finance industry. Feel like chances are are slim. Any advice?

Hey guys, I just found this group and I’m hoping for some guidance/advice! I’m hoping to get into one of the Big 4s or MBB and finally got a few referrals once joining FB. I am 29, have an MA in IOP, and 10 YEO. I have never worked for a non-Jewish company (despite trying pretty damn hard to get out) and I’m freaking out. I’m working for an agency where Art Directors are essentially managers of designers. Art Directors are promoted from Senior Designer, we have no Junior Art Directors.

I’m curious about a trend I am seeing: I like to think I’ve well documented my abilities and functions in my CV, as well as my portfolio. I’ve noticed that for some of these jobs that I can check every single box in the job description, I won’t even get an interview. I’m wondering if many of these jobs are posted for internal hires, but some stay open for weeks. What gives?
