How do you arrange your monitor(s) at your home office?
I am torn between having two monitors with a monitor arm as I have in my office, or having a big one monitor and use it with split screen.

Widescreen gamer monitor, no split screen: life changer.

Love my super ultra wide. There is an app you can get for windows called fancy zones that still allows you to snap windows as if you had multiple screens which I highly recommend.

Two monitors: one landscape (usually Outlook, Excel etc) and one portrait (Word). Things like Acrobat can sit in either

This seems like overkill, but quickly made my home office my favorite place to work:
3-external monitors mounted next to each other. Left screen for reference doc 1-2, middle screen for drafting/working on doc, right screen for reference docs 3-4 or email or notes. Laptop open underneath these three monitors to my billables, occasional shift+tab to folders/online doc system.

I haven’t printed virtually anything since I got this set up up and running, and it’s made me insanely efficient at home.

… I asked for a 3rd monitor at work and they looked at me like I had a second head lol

I made the ultrawide swicth and love it. Whatever you get, try before you buy as there are pros and cons to each setup, and YMMV.

I have two external monitors and my laptop open and on a stand in the middle. The laptop is my video camera, so it stays in the middle and serves as my hub for timers, etc while my bigger monitors are for my reference documents and the document I’m actually working on.

Silly question- but how do you work from home? I could do it in small amounts and with small projects with simple things. But I can’t do any type of excel work or testing on my small laptop. I’m thinking about setting up an office for two screens and a standing desk. Would work reimburse that? (If they are primarily WFH)

Hey people, I’m looking to get some ergonomic tech for my new job , where they are giving me a MacBook Pro. Does anyone have suggestions for a mouse and an external keyboard? I have a set that I use for my current computer, which is a Lenovo thinkpad, but not sure it will be compatible. I have multiple herniated discs , so trying to be set with my wfh station before starting 🤞

I know I have to look for a job but I really don’t want to. Waiting it out until I can start a new job somewhere else that’s not my cluttered home office.

Hi There - I'm considering a role in consulting. The role is London based and as some of you may know the commute into London by train is significantly expensive (especially compared to my pre-covid commute by car). So that I can properly consider any offers I may get - can you claim expenses generally when travelling to client site, if that client site is also in London (albeit a different part of London to where your home office).
