No thanks. Already spend more than enough time in the office with colleagues. carve out time during office hours for team building.
Mainly against, it depends on how frequent, who is paying, and what the RTO policy is.
Once a quarter, on the company dime, with only 2-3 days/week RTO? Yeah, that's reasonable
Monthly HHs the company isn't paying for when you already see each other 4x a week? Nah

One time my agency hyped up a creative outing day as a team bonding day and then surprised us with pitch work. I’d much rather do an after hours event than whatever that was.
That's just tacky.
It used to be fun a decade ago when the team would go to interesting places together. That was also when pretty much everyone was in-office within major metros. Now it feels forced and awkward
Does anyone work at Forced & Awkward? What’s it like?
I'll go if I don't have plans. The agency pays for everything, so it's a nice way to get a free meal.
No such thing as a free meal
If it’s an expense paid dinner and drinks at a good restaurant, I love it, it’s a great way to unwind and be human and bond, and eat like kings and queens.

They should be illegal unless you get comp time.
Forced fun

So hang out with your colleagues that you like after work, which is entirely different than forcing everyone to bond together after work.
Performative BS
WPP 1 no one will actually say forced, but it’s noted if you don’t attend. Some decision makers will take it badly and remember you for it.
Targets are placed on backs for the most innocuous of “slights”. Which is exactly why people feel forced even if leadership swears up and down it’s completely voluntary.
No
I used to dread the weekly happy hours during COVID days lol
Depends on the frequency. If it’s every now and then, it can be fun. If it’s weekly, no way.
