Amaze-balls is the technical term
But not in all models
Excellent parental leave and PTO but weak 401k match. Deloitte justifies it by giving you a pension but the pay out is not great unless you stay at the firm for a long time
Well the average turnover for a consultant is what...like two years. I'm sure that goes into the vesting calculation. The 401K is definitely weak as is the pension. I get trying to use it as a retention tool but that's a shady way to operate.
Ours is pretty awesome. We’ve also added a lot around the parental leave stuff lately and family support such as back-up care!
Clearly you don’t have a family to buy health insurance for. It costs me $700+ per month, and that’s for the HDHP
Why do we do this again?
Match + employer contribution makes 401k competitive, good PTO and they paid for my part time MBA at NYU so really cant complain. I cant speak to the family related benefits though
Deloitte's benefits are not as good if you go to the usdc, but better than alight. Alight lets you work from home and has tiered vacation, but health insurance costs are high, no parental leave, and only core holidays.
Getting only a 1.5% maximum salary bump through our 401k match is pretty bad.
PTO was pretty good if you were hired before 2017 (22 days for mgr level)
Parental leave is a joke (2 weeks for Paternity, which is really just the 14 days of family sick and wellness time)
401k is meh, not great, but not terrible
I don't use the healthcare since my wife's is incredible.
WFH is all client dependant
Our health insurance sucks. Pto and parental leave is good. Been fairly satisfied w 401k...although i got crushed last year thanks to the market downturn.
Pwc increased parental leave to 8 weeks last week (not incl disability leave u can get in states like nyc if primary caregiver which is a total of 12). Pto has been alright. Been with firm long enuf not to care about whether balance is +ve or -ve.. as long as ur days off planned properly u can take a week off every 3 or so months..
havent taken adv of 401k unfortunately but our wealthbuilder is pretty decent. As long as uve been with the firm over 5 yrs and fully vested that is. Insurance has been alright too.
Last year*
TRASH!!!
Pretty happy with benefits. Unlimited PTO that is actually very well respected (ie I take significantly more PTO than industry avg) and healthcare / 401k is pretty solid. Stock purchase incentive is nice too, made some good $$ over the past yr.
We also have a travel bonus / benefit for those who travel heavily (most of us) that adds a couple of grand.
Maternity / paternity is solid, though not industry leading. Matching D at 16 weeks would be a huge win.
Oh would also like to see a wellness benefit (used to have but removed) and personal CC option added
Yes industry defo has better benefits
Accenture is one of the best. Would like to see the 401K maximum match raised to 7%, especially since defined benefit plans & pensions are going away or are weakening due to the trend toward careers with multiple employers.
Very poor
Accenture is surprisingly good at retirement/parental leave etc in Sweden althogh the pay is below average for the work you do compared to other consultancy firms.
401k has no match... PTO is top-notch... Parental Leave is top-notch... Health Insurance is HDHP but very good compared with every alternative.
I would recommend an ESPP and RSUs as awards -- Fit the risk profile of most employees better than 401k.
EY health insurance isn’t great
What made the United better for you?
Very good pto, decent healthcare, poor 401k.
Our health insurance is prohibitively expensive if you have a family. Salary is maybe a little low, but not bad.
Everything else is amazing so I suppose it balances out
Idk, most of our benefits are not great imo, which we claim to make up with our culture. I will say our people and culture are amazing and we do look after our people (and support them if their goals take them outside consulting). But that doesn't make up for the lack of benefits...
401k - 6% at 25% per contribution, vest over 3yrs
ESOP - We're doing well so it can be decent, but gets a little complicated, 3yr vesting (0% till yr 3)
Travel Bonus - 3k per quarter
Health Insurance - It's ok as an individual, but should be better coverage for what we pay
PTO - Unlimited, need to make sure you use it and it will heavily depend on your personality/attitude, team, Career Advisor (manager), and PM/project team
Parental Leave was recently made significantly better - Primary Caregiver is 10wks (can take up to 2wks early, ex: Pre-Birth/Adoption/Placement) and secondary caregiver is 5wks; runs concurrently with FMLA
Ins is great, they cover 100% for the employee. 401k is pretty decent with a match of 100% up to 3%, but PTO is a bit weak at 10 days starting out. Given that we have very little travel and WFH though, I'm happy with it.
Eh
