Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

I normally ask what is something I can do immediately joining to be effective. What's some milestones they'd like to see accomplish in 30-60-90 days.

Play to their vanity, ppl love to talk about themselves.
Do deep research on the company/industry. Ask smart questions that relate back to what you will be doing in your particular role. Show you can play ball while having an interesting conversation.
Ask what do they like most about working at the company and what is a challenge for them.
Listen - ask questions on the back of their brief bio if interesting.
Take advantage of current environment, covid - ask what are their top priorities of the group on the back of Covid and let takeaways.
Agree with asking q on role - not surface level or q that can be addressed by jrs, so do some research on the role and maybe tailor it to to the company assuming they might have been recent events, diversification of biz lines that could impact role from an opportunity standpoint going forward.
