Conduct anonymous surveys periodically to see what they are interested in, make benefits readily available to them and their families while ensuring privacy and security, and share information regarding the benefits with the employees and their families.
That said…I have been facing issues of low engagement and concerns with privacy ever since I got into Benefits. People are naturally private about their health and detest employer involvement of any kind out of fear of “big brother.” 12 years in, and still dealing with that.
Education is another barrier that has been tough. People hate reading. They hate self-driven research. Etc. Some of the best success I have seen has been from a combined communication campaign incorporating email, text, mail-to-home, and newsletter/intranet messages. The key is to engage the spouse at home. They are the decision-makers for our employees.
Well, it’s awesome that your company offers these benefits. It does sound stressful. My company offers the worst benefits so we don’t get anything like this. We do have to jump through hoops to access our benefit portal just for basic health insurance so I get some of your frustration, but yeah, it sounds like your company could be way better at managing these.
Yep right there with you. they always send out this big list of links that are really hard to navigate. You have to have seperate logins for each and its all really hard to keep track of. I feel like there has to be a better way to keep track of it all.
